Contact Lens Types

We offer all kinds of contact lenses from lots of different suppliers.  Choosing the right one for you will depend on lots of factors but we’ll talk you through the whole process, give you advice and get you wearing a lens that’s healthy, comfortable and gives you great vision.

Soft Daily Disposable Lenses

When available in your prescription, these would usually be our first choice of lens.  With daily disposable lenses there is no need to clean and store your lenses as you simply throw them away after each use.  This is the easiest and most convenient way to wear lenses and also the safest, as their is much less risk of picking up any eye infection when you are not using any cases or solutions.  As we start each day with a fresh lens they are also usually the most comfortable lenses to wear.

Soft Two Weekly and Monthly Disposable Lenses

If you want to wear your contact lenses every day, then a two weekly or monthly disposable lens may offer the best value for money.  They are also available in a wider range of powers, meaning better vision even for those with complicated prescriptions.  Now made from modern, more breathable materials they are very comfortable and healthy lenses to wear as long as they are worn and cared for as intended.

Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses

Rigid Gas permeable lenses are a great alternative to soft lenses.  While the initial adaptation to these lenses does take longer they can provide some significant advantages.  These more durable lenses are easier to clean leading to better hygiene and health benefits for the eyes.  The rigid material maintains a smooth surface and constant shape providing sharper and more stable vision, especially in those with astigmatism.  If the lenses are well cared for they can last up to two years making them a very cost effective way to wear lenses.
